As a general rule, a piano should be tuned at least once a year.
This allows for mechanical adjustments for proper ware and maintaining tuning stability.
The factory recommended interval on tuning a new piano should be 3 to 4 times the
first year to stretch and stabilize the string tention.
Piano condition and the players needs vary. A custom service interval
can be set up to your individual needs. When a piano has not been tuned in several years, the string tension will gradually fall and tone quality is reduced.
It will need a pitch raise and should be re-tuned within six months to maintain
the correct pitch of A440. A piano's tone always imroves when tuned to concert pitch.
